My Fair Lady

Bronzing correctly can be tricky for most. However, for those with fair, porcelain, or downright transparent complexions, bronzing can be absolutely anxiety causing. The goal with fair skin isnt really to "bronze" at all. The real objective is to warm the complexion, and also to add dimension to the face.

In order to achieve this warming of the skin and added dimension, one must first find the correct product. In order to do this we must first identify the skin type we are working with: dry, normal, oily. Stay away from brown, reddish or deep bronzers, these will only succeed in making the skin look dirty. Instead, look for tawny, peachy and golden biege shades.

DRY-NORMAL SKIN
Liquids work best for very dry skin, and creams work best for normal to dry skin.

DuWop's Sundrops Bronzing serum is fantastic for very dry skin. It conditions and hydrates while imparting a healthy sunkissed glow. you can use a drop under foundation, or over foundation using a large powder brush to sweep over cheeckbones, temples and jawline.

Nars' The Multiple in south beach is a great cream product that works well for normal to dry skin. I find its best applied with fingertips or a large foundation brush. As a bonus its available in a great gift set at sephora complete with a pearly highlighter and orgasm cheek color.

OILY SKIN
Powders generaly work best for oil rich skin, as well I find silicone based tinted primers work wonders as well, as they really matify the skin.

Smashbox's bronzing primer, though it may look scary to those with fair skin, is actually quite amazing. The pigment is extremely transparent, and as it is meant to be used under foundation it looks incredibly natural. you get a sunkissed glow and you fill in fine lines and reduce shine! aplly with fingertips to the highest points of your face.

MAC's mineralize loose powder in medium plus is perfect for those with oil rich but fair skin. The texture of the loose powder instantly soaks up excess oil and leaves the skin looking fresh and semi matte. This is meant to be worn over your foundation, and is fairly sheer so you can build to the desired warmth.

TIPS

1.Avoid placing your bronzer on the apples of your cheeks, this area is strictly for blush

2.Always blend a soft pink or coral blush on the apples of your cheeks into your bronzer. This helps your complexion look multidimensional and the bronzer to look more natural.

Try Benefit's Face powder in dandelion for a delicate pink flush.
